FRONT RUNNER ALBERT BALDEO MAINTAINS MASSIVE LEAD! FUNDRAISING EXCEEDS ALL OPPONENTS COMBINED!

"LET US UNITE FOR OUR COMMON GOOD!"

According to the most recent filings, Attorney at Law Albert Baldeo has outpaced all of his declared rivals in fundraising for the Sept. 13 Democratic Primary. He reported raising $48,595 in contributions from 202 donors. His closest rival Tom White, Jr. raised $22,641 from 108 donors, while minor candidates Dhanpaul Narine raised $9,977 from 42 donors, Larry McClean raised $555 from 9 donors, and Charles Bilal’s filing has yet to be updated.

Incumbent Councilman Allan Jennings has yet to file with the Board as he owes $40,000 in outstanding penalties from his 2001 and 2003 elections.

“I want to thank all of my supporters across this district who have financially contributed to my campaign. They have put great faith in my candidacy. Together, we will succeed. We will now be able to get our message out to the voters who, after two terms of Jennings’ embarrassments and Tom White's 60 % absenteeism, are ready for improvements in education, health care, jobs, wages, housing, small businesses, safety, property taxes, public transportation, police relations, the environment and other quality of life issues. The residents of District 28 are seeing the need for change, and I am stepping up to the plate to bat for them," Baldeo said.

Baldeo, who has stepped up his campaign to the entire district, urged, "Unless we unite, register to vote, and exercise our right to vote, we will be kept out of the benefits our tax payments should bring to us. The last Councilmen, Allan Jennings and Tom White, did very little, if anything, for us, and we should send someone who would represent our interests to the City Council. I am that candidate! We cannot be running from "pillar to post" all our lives! The Diaspora has enriched America, and we must get our fair due from the government! But be wary of those who seek to divide us. I will be here for the entire district, and together, we will chart a new course to a better quality of life for all of us!"
