Albert Baldeo was honored for his commitment and dedication to uplifting our community, and for highlighting our problems and issues with elected officials, as he does here with Senator Hillary Clinton.

Community Advocate and Attorney at Law Albert Baldeo is among seven distinguished honorees chosen by SAAPAC to receive its acclamation on Friday June 14, at the Astoria World Manor. The South Asian American Political Action Committee is a non-profit, non-partisan, civic and political organization created for identifying and resolving South Asian-American issues in the public spectrum. It represents millions of Americans of South Asian heritage, and includes people from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Ceylon, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Bhutan,  and Indo-Caribbeans from Guyana, Trinidad, Jamaica and Suriname. It is now a major political force to reckon with.

SAAPAC is a grassroots community based organization. Its mission is to provide leadership in the public sector and put forth a South Asian American agenda through advocacy, education, civic participation and outreach. Many politicians, public officials and guests are expected to attend the event. The keynote speaker will be the Honorable Eliot Spitzer. Tickets for this special event, which starts at 7 pm and includes a special musical and cultural program, cost $120 each.
