SENATE CANDIDATE ALBERT BALDEO GETS SUPPORT FROM FORMER US
SENATOR & MAJORITY LEADER TOM
"CONTINUE TO STAND UP FOR DEMOCRACY, OUR FAMILIES & THOSE
QUALITIES & VALUES WHICH MAKE AMERICA GREAT!"
Former US Senate Majority Leader and possible US Presidential
candidate Hon. Tom Daschle, encourages State Senate candidate
and Community Advocate Albert Baldeo to continue to fight for
our community, our schools and our families. "Albert is making
the sacrifice for all of you in his community, democrats and
republicans alike. He is trying to help us democrats win back
the senate majority in New York, just like what we are trying
to do in Washington on the congressional level, so that all
across America, everyone can live the American dream and get
better jobs, wages, health care, housing, lower taxes, our
kids a better education, and our seniors a better life! I
compliment his courage to run against Republican county leader
Maltese, and you must give him every support!" the longtime
U.S. Senator from South Dakota said.
Baldeo recently filed 4,000 signatures-about 800 more than his
opponent, in a bid to unseat Senator Serf Maltese, who has
held the office since 1988. Maltese last faced a candidate in
1994. Baldeo has condemned the Republican County leader's
present attempt to legalize racial profiling in the state, his
cruel under funding of education, rising taxes, spiraling
health care costs and other quality of life issues. "Maltese
has lost touch with his constituents, and it is time for him
to step down in favor of a candidate who has the community,
our kids and our future as the top priority. As a parent, I
will ensure that our kids get more science and computer labs,
smaller class sizes, certified teachers, more text books and
after schools programs, and that more jobs and better wages
are brought to our community," Baldeo said.
"We should not allow our communities to become the personal
kingdoms of any politician, built on the backs of deprived
working constituents who are suffocating from high taxes, and
that is why I am stepping up to the plate for our community,"
Baldeo declared. "That is not what the American dream is
about. The fact that I got more signatures than him sends a
strong message to him that our community is ready for change,"
