The Richmond Hill/Ozone Park Democratic Club has pledged its support in the fight against cancer at its monthly meeting held at the Law Offices of State senate candidate Albert Baldeo on March 19, 2007, its president (seated, second from left). Members will take part in the Relay For Life on May 19 and 20, an overnight community event at Smokey Oval, and will field several teams to keep the relay going from 5 PM on Saturday to 7 AM on Sunday. "Our club will support humanitarian causes like fighting cancer, and we want to bring awareness to the community that early detection and treatment is of vital importance. We also encourage those who have survived this deadly disease to take part in the victory lap," Baldeo said.  "On a personal level, my father died from cancer, and I want to honor his memory, and those of our many friends and relatives, by renewing our collective fight against this disease. I also want to compliment Real Estate Broker Romeo Hitlall and Carolina  Soto on the initiative they have shown in bringing this event to our  community" he disclosed. In photo, several members of the club endorse the Relay for Life initiative at the last democratic club meeting.
